Ingham County Garden Project
Contact:  887-4660
  • Community garden space - 25x25 or less plowed and free seeds
  • Registration/application process in spring for space
  • 40 properties around the city
Harvest Program (Ends in October)
  • Opportunity once/week to pick fruits/vegetables
  • Voluntary/on call  - 9:00 - 12:00 noon
  • Ability to take home some of the harvest
  • Application necessary for this program

Salvation Army

  • Produce pick-up every Wednesday - 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. (Arrive prior to 1:00 to register)
  • One box/family
  • Available through October 19th (Resumes 2nd week of January)
  • December 12th - 16th  - box for Christmas
  • Must apply in November
  • Free lunch available every Friday (at this location)

St. John’s Student Parish

  • MSU students only can receive one bag of food/personal needs
  • Every Saturday from 10:00 - 12:00 noon
  • Must have ID​​

  • Refugees need to phone and make appointment - are eligible to receive to receive clothing once per month. Only those who physically come to the Free Store can receive clothing.
  • The date for coat pick-up will be in November

  • Ten ride - 10 tokens for $8.50
  • 30 day adult pass for $30.00 - ride anytime as often as needed
  • 30 day student pass for $14.00 - ride anytime as often as needed
  • Student semester pass $45.00 - for a five month period
  • Free transportation (Emergency Service) - 15 days only - refugees would qualify

City of Lansing Food Mobile (Free)
  • 3rd Saturday of each month (Location changes each month)
  • Beginning at 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
  • Those persons on a fixed income, senior citizens, etc
  • Must have a picture ID, proof of residence
  • Bring bags or boxes to collect food
  • Location changes each month - usually at local churches, sometimes schools
